good eatin'

i am going to get out of order here as far as documenting our new york trip, just for the sheer fact that i have to have a whole post about the places that we ate.  actually, let me back up even further.  there is an unsung hero where our ny trip is concerned...without my sister, amy, we would not have been able to navigate around ny nearly as easily.  maybe not at all.  she wrote me out a huge itinerary for both days that we were there, complete with where we should eat, which trains we could take to get there, etc.  i mean, she was a HUGE lifesaver!  so THANK YOU, amy!!  between that and the new york for dummies book that drew's mom got for us, we were set...

so back to our food...we did a lot of burgers and fries while we were there, but they were so good that no one complained about having it so much!  the first night we went to a great burger place called shake shack.  i completely went overboard with what i ordered...

yes, that is all my food...a huge burger slathered with four types of cheese, cheese fries with EXTRA cheese, and a peanut butter shake.  but i did order diet coke to even all of that out...

the second day we went for lunch to a place called soho park, and it was another scrumptious burger joint.  not to mention that i had the absolute best cream soda that i have ever had.  i wish i could have another one right.now.!

on tuesday night we went well out of our way to go to a pizza place called grimaldi's.  it was really good, and the pizzas were huge!  but that didn't stop me...

yes, people, that whole pizza is mine...and i ate all of it except for two pieces {well, and i didn't eat the crust, either}.  i know.  i do believe i gained five pounds on this trip...

we also made sure to get a hot dog from a hot dog stand in the city, just to be able to say that we did.  and it was well worth it.  so, yeah, we did some good eatin' while we were there.  and i have to leave the top buttons of my jeans undone to prove it!  but it was fun while it lasted :)
