i survived the delta fair.

for all you haters who have been ugly to me about not keeping up my blog (julie), just know that i am back.  at least for one random post for the month of september.

a couple of weeks ago, we decided to take the girls to the delta fair.  unfortunately i have to admit that this really bad idea was my idea.  i am a thrill-ride lovin' kind of gal, so i thought we would have a blast.  i am NOT a teacup, twirly whirly-ride lovin' kind of gal.  i'm the kind of gal that gets off of those rides and begs God not to let her throw up in front of the whole amusement park.  (sadies, anyone?) sorry, inside joke...

anyway, we made it through about three rides, and it was over.  well, for me and drew it was over.  in fact, it hit drew much harder than it did me.  (maybe because kylie turned her puppy dog eyes on him, and begged him to ride ring of fire even though he was already perilously close to puking).  he got off of that ride and it was done.  over.  he just stood off to the side with his hands on his knees, and i tried to help keep his manliness intact by drawing the girls' attention to all of the stuffed animals in the booths all over the place.  they were unfortunately too preoccupied asking what daddy was doing, and does he need to go to the bathroom?  one look at him and i knew we were done for the day.  we went home after being there a short four hours.  we got about a mile down the road and he had to pull the car over and let me drive the rest of the way home.  it was not pretty.

i was so looking forward to the dirty fair food, but by the time we got ready to eat, i was so sick that i didn't really feel up to eating it...so the girls pretty much finished my burger off for me.

but we did have fun for the first 15 minutes before we rode our first ride.  the girls had a blast, and i'm glad they got to experience the delta fair in all of its glory.  because it will probably be the first and last time that they ever experience it.  at least with their mom and dad taking them.

hope your delta fair experience was better than ours.  i will stick with disney world ;)

happy weekend!
