Ringing in 2016

For our New Year's Eve celebration, we just had a small get together with some good friends at our church.  We ate at a local Mexican restaurant with just the adults, and then went to pick up our kiddos before heading over to one of the couples' homes to ring in the New Year.  I have to say, waiting up for 12:00 to roll around ain't what it used to be!  I was pretty much a zombie by the time the countdown started.

I love this woman right here.  She is one of my best friends and I'm so thankful to have her in my life.  She clearly doesn't mind being an idiot with me.

And yes, I got a TON of jokes and jests over my sequined pants.  But I don't care.  I love them. lol

Happy 2016, and Happy Thursday!

TEN

So I'm back to blogging!  At least for today, ha!  Over the Christmas break my girls broke out our past blog books, and it was so fun looking at memories and pictures.  I am so glad that I have pictures and stories of things that happened over the years in those books.  I forget so many memories, and my blog books help me to remember special times with the family.  I told the girls that I would try to start posting more in 2016 so that this year I would have a book to print out at the end of the year.  So we'll see how long this lasts! ;)

We always get to ring in the new year with a birthday celebration - Kenzie's birthday is January 3, so we start off the year with birthday gifts right after Christmas.  It's pretty amazing (can you hear the sarcasm in my typed words?).  Especially since Kylie's birthday is only 17 days later.  So those two girls always get a lot of gifts over a short period of time.

I asked Kenzie this year what she wanted to do for her birthday and she insisted that she wanted a Charlie Brown party.  She instructed me that she wanted all of her friends to dress up like their favorite Charlie Brown character.  Imagine my surprise when she said she wanted to dress up like PigPen!

I found her Snoopy cake at Walmart (and it was the perfect size, because we only had four little girls over, so it was a small cake for a small party).  She of course wanted to put a PigPen figurine on it, so of course I let her do it...

She was super excited about her cake and about her party.  The girls rode the gocart, played spies, and of course had cake and ice cream and opened lots of presents!  It was a fun day for her.

This girl has added so much quirky joy to our lives, and I could not imagine life without her.  In honor of 10 years with this quirk, I wanted to post some of my latest pictures of my favorite Kenzie.

Her face in that last picture trips me out!  That's Kenzie at her finest ;)

Happy Wednesday!

High or Low?

A couple of months ago I wrote this high/low and wanted to repost it.  I just thought it would be fun to see if you could even tell the difference in the high and low ends of these items.  The price tags sure tell a different story, but I honestly can't tell much of a difference when I see them!

Untitled #5

*BAGS:
1) Michael Kors, approximately $200
2) Charming Charlie, approximately $40

*STUDDED GLADIATOR HEELS:
1) Valentino, approximatel $970
2) Shopakira, $40 (and I found some on Ebay for only $30!)

*DESTROYED DENIM SHORTS:
1) Necessary Clothing, $30 (my favorite though are from DailyLook)
2) Rag and Bone, $209 (WOW.)

As you can clearly see, you can get a high end look without spending a fortune.  I love playing the high/low game! :)

Happy Friday!
