the last days

well, we are officially counting down the last of our days at FBC.  we only have 19 days left at our church.  one wednesday night, one sunday night, and three sunday mornings, to be exact.  it is a very bittersweet time.  although i am so excited about what the future holds, it is extremely hard to close the door on the past.  friday night was the first of a few "last times" for us...we had our last ever youth workers' christmas party.  then last night we had our church-wide reception for us, and drew preached the sermon in church last night.  thank you to all of our friends and family who were there.  it was all the more special because of you being there.  i know it is a busy time of year and we appreciate everyone who came out to show us some love.  there were many, many kind words of love and encouragement.  it was a sweet time, and such a reminder of how much we have been loved at First!

it has made this holiday season especially hard realizing that our life as we know it is about to change.  First has been our life for eight years...even when God has prepared your heart to move on, and you're absolutely ready, it can still be so hard!  just a look at some of the fun we had friday night...

we had our christmas party at the boatwrights...i can't even tell you how much i'll miss this sweet friend!  of course, we have already promised to keep in close contact, but it will be sad not seeing kim on a regular basis...

yep, crazy as it sounds, this guy will be missed, too...not sure that there will ever be another "brady" wherever life takes us...

extremely grateful to be taking sweet ladies like these with me...close friends who i can be crazy like this with...

yes, we are kissing the moss-covered angels...angels need love, too...

love this girl and am not even going to say i'm going to miss catherine, because i know she will keep in touch...

...unless she's too busy hanging with this crazy guy...who, crazy enough, will be missed, too...

not really sure what this guy is cracking up about...and unfortunately i can't say i'll miss him...walking the church planting journey with him and his sweet wife is going to be fun, indeed...

love how much fun we have had with this group...you can just see how much fun we had this night...

so many friends who will be missed so very much...like i said, it's just so bittersweet!  so thankful for all the friendships we have made and how much fun we've had as we've strived to minister to this awesome community.

hope everyone's weekend was as full as ours!  happy monday!
