last tuesday kenzie turned six.
my kids have the birthday that never ends. can anyone else relate? i mean, we start out on the eve of the birthday honoring the birthday girl. then all day on her birthday all bets are off because, hey, it's her birthday. and then of course there's the day after the birthday where she's still pointing out the fact that she should get special treatment because "yesterday was my birthday". i mean, please. i don't know where they get that kind of selfish behavior from.
so i told her that i would take her to the mall on her birthday to get her a small gift...i told her to go into her room to get ready {i had laid out some clothes on her bed}...when she came out of her room, this is what she had on...and this is NOT what i had laid on her bed...
i loved the fact that she wanted to wear this...that so totally defines kieta - twilight sparkle - animal - whatever her name is! it got her a lot of attention, too...she came home with two birthday crowns and one birthday balloon from different stores - people would spot her and ask her who she was and she would tell her in that shy little deep voice, "it's my birthday" and they would just make over her. she absolutely loved it! {and kylie told me later that it was "the worst day ever"!}
after our fun day at the mall, we still had her birthday dinner at home where i baked her a cake, and then she also got to spend the night with pawpaw & gee, and they took her to the mall and let her pick out a little something...she picked out hamm and dollia off of toy story 3...

she got the udraw tablet for the wii, and i have to say, that thing is awesome! we have all been enjoying it ;) and then lest i forget, she got to enjoy her own giant cupcake...
she had a great 6th birthday, and i know i will certainly remember this one because of getting to spend the day with "jessie"!
don't you just love birthdays that seem to go on for days!? i sure do. i cannot believe that she is 6 now….
