my favorite day of the week is thursday. the day revolves around family: drew has thursdays off, and we just about always use that day strictly as a family day. a lot of weeks drew will tell me to get out of the house and go do whatever i want (!) for a couple of hours. sometimes we will swim together as a family. almost always we either go to dinner or lunch together as a family. yesterday was a really special day. we didn't do even get out of our house to "do" anything; it was just a fun day spent together as a family...
we did a good bit of painting yesterday...kenzie about died over this little nutcracker that we saw in hobby lobby a couple of weeks ago, and so i bought it for her (she has since named him Prince Antonio {pronounced Ontonio} - that's the nutcracker's name on Barbie in the Nutcracker). she's been begging me to let her paint Prince Antonio, so yesterday she we painted the little guy. he didnt' turn out half bad, huh? and what is it about painting on surfaces that are off limits that makes it so much more fun? when the girls had gotten finished painting, i told them they could paint on the sheet that was covering the table, and wow, there was no containing that excitement!! they painted on that sheet for the next hour...
we played outside for a long time while drew mowed the grass.. it's been a beautiful week; hasn't it? we stayed outside and i snapped pictures while the girls played...
and of course i took a ton of pictures inside of the k's...they're just so stinkin cute it's hard not to take pictures of their little button faces...
for dinner last night i cooked a big dinner and after everything was cleaned up we watched Soul Surfer with the girls (which they absolutely loved!), and then we had sno cones before going to bed. what a wonderful day...love, love, love these memories!!
