a new home!!

i cannot believe it even as i type it, but we have a new home!!!  i know, i never thought it was going to happen.  but it has, and we are so super excited about it.  there is a TON of work to be done on our new home.  and i have to admit, although i hate the fact that we don't have a move-in ready home, i am so excited about the fact that we are getting to pick out what we want in our home, and that we are actually doing the work ourselves.  that is kinda scary, i know.  but we are taking it on.

okay, i know, you can barely see the house because of the shrubs.  but that's just one of the many things that is on our list of things "to do"...

drew took these one day while the owner was still occupying the house, so none of this stuff is ours...but you get the general idea of what the house looks like.  we have a LONG list of things that has to do be done: painting every room of the house, flooring almost every room, new countertops in the kitchen, painting the kitchen cabinets, outside work...it is a little overwhelming!  i will post before and after pictures as we get stuff done, but i thought i would post a couple of pics to show you what we are currently working on...

this is the den, getting ready to prime and paint!  unfortunately this little person ended up in the center of every picture that i took...so much for great before and after pics!

this picture was taken before the previous owner had gotten all of her stuff out, so please try to look past that, but this is the kitchen eat-in area...

as you can see, LOTS of work to do!  we have already primed the entire house, and are having a moving/work/cleaning day out at the house tomorrow.  i cannot wait to see what all we get done!
